A little bit of history

Dom Luís – Elvas, 3-star hotel located next to the Amoreira Aqueduct, currently has 88 rooms, bar, terrace, outdoor pool (seasonal) and restaurant (breakfast and groups).

This hotel was built in 1974/1975, at the time with 47 rooms. During the first year it served as shelter for the families of returnees who were forced to abandon the former colonies.

Ten years later, in 1985, expansion works took place, resulting in 61 rooms. The bar was also renewed, becoming larger and gaining a fantastic terrace with the Amoreira Aqueduct views. Interestingly, at this time, the hotel bar was an ex-libris of the Region, in such a way that there were queues to attend the space and each shift had two employees. The hotel was also very popular for weddings and wedding nights.

In 1991 there was another intervention which resulted in a total of 90 rooms available.

In 2014 and 2015, works were carried out mainly for qualification and to renew the decoration, with a great upgrade in comfort, where the hotel stays with its current 88 rooms, 2 of them suites, for a total amount of 187 beds.

In 2018, an area known as the Bingo was reformed into a multifunctional space, equipped with furniture and audiovisuals for different events.
